A Year of GenTales
2022 has been a busy and enlightening year. I started this Substack a year ago in December 2021 to highlight family lineages I’ve put together and talk about resources that may be of interest to others looking into their lineage or genealogy. I have more family groups to share in the coming year, and hopefully you do, too!
I also started the Lineage Research Space on Quora, which now has a subscription option.
As I’ve gotten busier, this newsletter has become less frequent. My goal for the coming year is to have at least two free issues a month and one paid issue per month (these paywalled posts are the result of extensive research that, to the best of my knowledge, has not been previously published by anyone else). I will also continue to put the paywalled posts as PDFs on Ko-Fi so you can choose the info you need ala carte.
I’m also hoping 2023 will allow me time to dive into my maternal grandfather’s family. I had a genetic hit on Ancestry that seems to be a distant Demler cousin - fingers crossed that I am finally able to find a thread to pull on my German-Russian family.
I’m closing out 2022 by attempting to finish my second lineage book. My dad’s side of the family has been waiting more than 3 years for it and I’m currently creating the visual elements and fact-checking some remaining details. Hopefully 2023 will be more productive.
Here’s to another year - may yours be happy and healthy.
