This is good to know about. Thank you! I tried clicking on the link to the Index that you provided and got an error message. Just wondering if that is an issue isolated to me or an issue with the link?

It worked on Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Android Chrome for me (without ever logging into the Member site on Edge or Chrome, so it's definitely a public link). Possibly a regional issue?

This is incredible, Alicia! Thank you for your hard work! I look forward to leveraging this research not only for my own history but also for my Lafayette project.

Ya know... I'll bet YOU had ancestors around these United States in 1824 or 1825 when Lafayette made his tour of all 24 states in the then union. I'd love to include you. More at Projectkin.org/lafayette. All I'm asking for in my "community connection" is their name, a short bio, an image link, and where they might have met the Marquis on his journey.

I'm not quite finished, but it's close. I'm polishing the timeline you might have seen earlier with support from my new friends at the American Friends of Lafayette. I've planned to finish it in time for an April event my local Acalanes DAR chapter has organized to commemorate the bicentennial of Lafayette's journey for the NorCal town named in his honor: Lafayette, California.

The Vermont State Society of DAR has Lafayette events this spring, too! My chapter is working on a field trip for one. I'll take a look at my ancestors from that time period and check the link. Thanks!

Oh, wonderful. Yes, I know the American Friends of Lafayette (AFL) has a special partnership with the DAR to support these kinds of events. It's a little funny for all of us this far from the action to take it up, but 75 years ago someone chose to name a small town in the countryside outside of San Francisco for the Nation's Guest, and here we are. 🥰
