This week’s newsletter is a bit of housekeeping. I wanted to point out the new tags page here at GenTales.
You can find it here. It’s also at the top navigation bar on the GenTales front page. You’ll notice that there’s also a Videos tab, and it’s also a tag - so you can get to them from either place since they’re going to be a regular thing now.
If I haven’t broken the tags down into the geography you’re looking for, or you’re interested in a particular surname, you can still search the GenTales Archive. Remember, for Substack’s search feature, a single word works best - and try various spellings until you run out of ideas (or message me to ask!).
Substack gives results by relevance, so if the top few seem irrelevant, I’ve probably never used the word you searched. (Make sure you’re searching from within GenTales - either the Archive page or the front landing page - you won’t find my posts in the search function from your Substack homepage.)
I want to note that these aren’t sections of the newsletter - I’m still on a once a week schedule for one cohesive newsletter on multiple topics that fall under the umbrella of genealogy and family history.
I also want to point out that Group Subscriptions to GenTales come with a discount, and Gift Subscriptions are also available. So if you have family or friends you want to share this with, check out all the options!
Paid subscribers get one extra post a month - it’s one of the regular weekly posting days but is accessible beyond the preview by only that subscription tier. Some of the Archive that is older than 6 months is also for paid subscribers only. But the other 3-4 posts a month are free to both read and comment on for at least 6 months. So you do what’s right for you.
Thank you for being a subscriber and for joining me on my adventures in family history!
And since I took up your regular Wednesday GenTales time with administrative stuff, I’m posting the next video Friday instead of waiting 3 weeks.
