William Ricketts of Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, gave conflicting birth dates in subsequent English Censuses, but was said to have been born between 1796 and 1801.
His first wife was Bridget Turner. There is a marriage record for St. Peter’s in Wolverhampton December 21, 1847. She died in 1849 and there are no known children from that marriage.
His second wife was Ann (Bickerton) Stephens, who he married at Wolverhampton December 3, 1850. In addition to the two children from Ann’s first marriage (John and William Stephens), five Ricketts children appear in the 1851, 1861, and 1871 England Censuses and Civil Registration Birth Index:

Margaret born about 1854 in Wolverhampton. She married Arthur Mason December 12, 1875, in Wednesfield, Staffordshire. She died July 1913 in Aston, Warwickshire.

Ruth born about 1859 in Wolverhampton (she is listed as 1 year old on the 1861 census but birth given as last quarter of 1859 in the index). She married George Rownes after 1881. She died March 1937 in Wolverhampton.
John born about 1863 in Wolverhampton. He married Mary Ann Robison in April 1881 in Wolverhampton. He died January 4, 1922, and is buried at Wood Green Cemetery, Wednesbury.
