I am somehow related to the Adams and Caudills. I have lots of DNA matches to these lines. I am still trying to untangle them all. Can you tell me who Benjamin's parents are, please? I think my 6th great grandparents were James Adams (abt. 1716-1782) and Sarah Huff (1720-1782). How they connect to your Adams I don't know but I think there is a connection somewhere.
The Adams and Caudills intermarried A LOT. So the DNA concentration persists through the generations way beyond the normal threshold - Benjamin’s parents were John Hobbs Adams (Sr.) (b.~1727 in Virginia) and Ann Caudill(1730-1803). They married about 1746 in Virginia. (Yes, Benjamin and his wife were related). Based on James’ estimated year of birth, he might be the brother of Benjamin’s grandfather (who is thought to have also been named Benjamin - James was a name used in the family). It’s thought that the line goes my Benjamin - John Hobbs - Benjamin again (1719-1756, thought to have married Agnes Ezell) - Thomas (1690-1752, Isle of Wight, Virginia) - William (1660-1701, from England). But I haven’t gotten back farther than the presumed parents and siblings of John Hobbs and I don’t have a Sarah Huff in my files yet, but I’ll keep an eye out.
